Finance Business Partner, Last Mile Delivery

This 3 months Fixed Term Contract position reports to the Finance Manager - Last Mile the Finance Business Partner is a pivotal role dedicated to answering the what and why behind business performance. You will support the Groups vast Last Mile Delivery ecosystemincluding Langtons Customer Fulfilment Centres the Customer Hub and our in-house transport businesses.

In this role you will bridge the gap between financial control and commercial strategy. You will manage core month-end accounting accruals and reconciliations while simultaneously collaborating with operations and IT to drive process improvements. By transforming how Finance and Retail partners collaborate you will increase speed-to-action in forecasting and ensure the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting across our evolving e-commerce and fulfillment network.

The Last Mile Delivery Finance team partners with the Last Mile Delivery team to measure performance and provide actionable reporting and insights to achieve or exceed financial targets. As the Finance Business Partner for Last Mile Delivery you report to the Finance Manager Last Mile Delivery and will gain exposure to the senior members of the Last Mile Delivery and Customer Hub operational teams.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

• Support to deliver our annual plans (Budget) re-forecasts and month-end reporting (financial / KPIs) for the Endeavour Delivery and Customer Hub business areas 
• Analytical and decision support for strategic projects / initiatives in conjunction with the finance manager. This includes developing business cases supporting rationale commercial analysis and benefits realisation on strategic investments 
• Providing commercial insights to assist the Last Mile Delivery functions that drives E-Com profitability and sustainability 
• Create new financial models and reports to improve Endeavour Deliverys understanding and measurement of performance 
• Monthly accounting reconciliation and journals as needed for the LMD team 
• Proactively explore and support process improvement opportunities
• Variance Analysis & Insights: Deep dive into financial results to identify key drivers of change utilising financial models to explain the whys behind variances to Finance Managers and operational stakeholders
• Commercial Business Partnering: Provide commercial insights and financial support to the Commercial team and National Delivery Manager to drive E-Com profitability sustainability and savings initiatives
• Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Assist in the budgeting process by analyzing fixed versus variable delivery costs supporting CODB line items and driving the development of new brand rate cards
• Stakeholder Communication: Present Standard Delivery financial results in monthly BPR forums and collaborate with stakeholders to identify financial call-outs or risks prior to Day One reporting
• End-to-End Month-End Management: Support to lead the complete month-end accounting cycle including system rollovers accruals and prepayments are accurately posted within strict financial timelines.
• Logistics Financial Operations: Manage the invoicing and payment processes for Depot Managers and external logistics providers (2PL/3PL) including detailed analysis of Drivers Pay and delivery volume profiles
• Financial Modeling & Reporting: Build and maintain financial models to measure performance while acting as a liaison with IT to develop insightful automated reporting that supports an agile business mode.
• Process Improvement: Investigate and execute process improvement opportunities such as delivery cost realignments and efficiency initiatives across internal operations and external carriers
• Ad-Hoc Projects: Support the wider team with ad-hoc financial analysis and assist business partners in understanding initiative savings and operational performance.

Qualifications :

Now lets talk about you: 

• 5 years experience including management accounting and business partnering 
• Good communication skills able to influence key business partners and manage a broad stakeholder base 
• Strong organisational and effective time management and prioritisation skills supporting multiple teams / functions 
• Commercial thinker able to critically evaluate and solve problems 
• Strong financial modelling with strong Excel experience 
• Self-starter who continuously improves processes and outcomes working both autonomously and as part of the broader team  
• Microsoft Dynamics experience 
• Supply chain / logistics experience 
• Budgeting/forecasting experience 
• Prior experience working in large and complex multi-stakeholder environments
