Level I Must be able to achieve many objectives of this position. Requires some amount of timely supervision to ensure the proper tasks are being accomplished and that communication is adequate timely in the correct manner (i.e. verbal written email etc.). Individual had a good understanding of at least one type of system within this division as well as holds a low-level industry certification.

Level II -Consistently achieves all the objectives of this position. This individual also provides mentoring and direct day-to-day supervision to level I positions. Has an ability to work on multiple Special Systems deliverables and has obtained mid-level industry certification.

Senior -Highly experienced in the position. Advanced awareness of the technical needs of fire design. Individual has a deep understanding of the fire systems installed and maintained within the division. The individual usually has a high-level certification and is active in the industry. Provides mentoring and direct supervision when required on projects.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Produce Fire Alarm drawings in accordance with the scope ofworkand budget as defined by contract documents and sales estimate ensuring equipment compatibility.
• Provide AutoCAD labor and directionas required to complete submittals and other engineered drawings accurately and professionally.
• Interpret project documents estimate and other information as available to select the proper equipment to achieve the scope of work required in the most economical and functional manner.
• Accurately forecast necessary laborrequiredto engineer a complete project and track this over time to achieve budget and forecast goals.
• Recommend technical solutionsto sales and operations. Constantly research outside purchase products.
• Communicate with internal employees as required toensure engineering is accurate and timely.
• Provide inputto others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation value engineering design installation start up commissioning and training for building systems.
• Communicate with external organizationsas required such as consulting engineers building owners and other contractors to ensure accurate and timely engineering.
  • Provide support for ongoing service engineering and support for existing building systems.
  • Complete Bill of Material for every project.
  • Suggest/recommend newproducts that provide better functionality and value to projects.
  • Generate Request for Information (RFIs) to clarify design issues and recommend appropriate solutions as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of high school diploma.
• Two year technical degree in draftingor Electronics related studies preferred.
• Other technical experience such as military onthejobtraining programs etc. may meet this requirement as determined bylocal management.
• NICET Certification
• Experience andexpertise including but not limited to:
• An understandingof basic computer systems including MS Office Suite of products including AutoCAD.
• Theabilityto configure and debug basic computer problems.
• NFPA knowledge required.
• Ability to conduct field surveys for projects.
• International Fire Code knowledge required.
• Coordinate Fire Alarm design with existing structure and other MEP contractors.
• Communicate with sales and other departments to optimize design efficiency for fabrication and installation of systems.
• Ability toclearly communicate verbally andin writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expertise of computer systems includingMS Office Suite of products including AutoCAD.
• 5 years of experience configuring anddebugging computer problems.
• 5 years of experience conducting field surveys for projects.
• NICET IV certification
• Familiarity with Honeywells Notifier.

Essential Job Functions:

• Be able to lift and carry drawings personal computers material and spend significant time sitting etc.
• Be able to lift up to 30lbs.
• Be able to spend significant time standing and walking.
• Be able to climb flights of stairs throughout a typical day.
• Maintain a satisfactory driving record which per Climatecs vehicle policy if driving a company vehicle or participating in an auto allowance program.
