The Business Development Manager (BDM) DACH is the key regional business partner for Switzerland Germany and Austria responsible for accelerating growth improving competitiveness and enhancing profitability of the Concrete Admixtures business.
The role acts as the primary link between countries customers and regional functions ensuring alignment of strategies execution of new products and initiatives and systematic closure of business gaps across the DACH region.
The position requires strong technical and commercial understanding of concrete and admixtures close field engagement and the ability to translate regional strategy into measurable country-level results.
Regional Business Alignment (CH / DE / AT)
- Act as the main regional coordinator for the Concrete Admixtures business across Switzerland Germany and Austria.
- Align country strategies priorities and action plans to ensure consistent execution and focus.
- Facilitate structured exchange of Best Demonstrated Practices (BDPs) between countries to leverage successes and accelerate performance.
- Support countries in closing identified business gaps and improving execution where additional regional support is required.
Growth Acceleration & Market Share Development
- Identify growth opportunities in markets segments and customers where market share or performance is below potential.
- Work closely with country management and sales teams to define and implement targeted growth plans.
- Support key customer engagements and strategic opportunities to strengthen partnerships and drive sustainable growth.
New Products Initiatives & Strategic Execution
- Drive the regional rollout and execution of new concrete admixture products value propositions and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure countries are prepared for successful commercialization including positioning value selling and technical readiness.
- Monitor implementation progress and ensure structured follow-up and cross-country learning.
Customer & Field Engagement
- Visit countries and customers regularly to identify on-the-ground challenges support needs and growth opportunities.
- Act as a credible partner in technical-commercial discussions with customers and key accounts.
- Capture customer feedback performance data and market signals to support continuous improvement.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Collect and consolidate market intelligence across the DACH region including market trends customer strategies and competitor positioning.
- Support estimation and tracking of market shares and competitive dynamics.
- Translate insights into clear actionable recommendations for countries and regional management.
Capability Building & Knowledge Transfer
- Organize and support regional trainings workshops and best-practice exchanges.
- Mobilize regional experts to strengthen local technical and commercial capabilities.
- Promote collaboration transparency and knowledge sharing across CH DE and AT.
Product Gap Identification & R&D Interface
- Identify product or performance gaps limiting competitiveness in the DACH market.
- Work with countries to define clear business and technical requirements.
- Interface with R&D and technical teams to support development validation and implementation of improved or new solutions.
Financial Understanding & Profitability Focus
- Understand and analyze country P&L performance including sales growth contribution margin and product mix.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving both top-line growth and bottom-line profitability.
- Contribute to value-based selling pricing discipline and mix optimization discussions with country teams.
Key Deliverables & KPIs
- Sales and volume growth vs. targets across CH / DE / AT
- Market share development in priority segments
- Successful execution of new product launches and initiatives
- Contribution margin and profitability improvement
- Effective implementation of Best Demonstrated Practices
- Structured reporting of highlights lowlights opportunities and threats
- Quality and impact of customer and field engagements
Qualifications :
Your Expertise - Our Strength
- Degree in Civil Engineering Chemistry Materials Science or equivalent (mandatory)
- Minimum 7 years experience in concrete admixtures ready-mix and/or precast concrete or construction chemicals
- Proven experience in business development market development or regional commercial roles
- German or Swiss German and English fluent (mandatory)
- Strong understanding of concrete technology and admixture value drivers
- Ability to influence and align stakeholders across multiple countries
- Structured analytical and execution-oriented mindset
- Strong customer-facing credibility (technical and commercial)
- High ownership autonomy and accountability
- Excellent communication facilitation and training skills
