Position Summary
Reporting to the Head of Pacific Finance the Senior Financial Accountant - Pacific is a pivotal role responsible for delivering the reliable timely management information that drives our business decisions and regional growth.
This is a high-visibility position perfect for a seasoned finance professional or an ambitious high-performer ready to take the next step in their career. You will join a collaborative team of three professionals dedicated to accounting controlling and reporting. While each team member owns specific domains we operate with a one team mentality supporting each other daily to achieve our collective goals.
The Role
As the Senior Financial Accountant - Pacific you will act as a key bridge between local regional and global Finance teams. You will partner with stakeholders across Tax Risk and Operations to ensure our financial reporting is accurate and compliant within our robust control framework.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee all internal and external reporting for Pacific entities ensuring filings are accurate timely and contextualized against business performance. Manage AASB/IFRS accounting considerations including emerging reporting requirements.
- Regulatory Excellence: Lead the preparation of daily monthly and quarterly Capital and Liquidity reporting (APRA) and other critical regulatory submissions.
- Tax & Governance: Review tax submissions and Payment Times reporting; prepare comprehensive Board papers for review.
- Strategic Growth Support: Partner with Expansion Banking Product and People teams to ensure new entities products and legislative changes are integrated seamlessly into our financial infrastructure.
- Audit & Controls: Assist with external and internal audits. Proactively enhance the control framework to identify and mitigate risks ensuring all processes are well-documented and optimized.
- FAR Compliance: Support Wise Australias Financial Process and Controls in alignment with the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) and other applicable regulations.
Qualifications :
Who You Are
You are a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced evolving environments. You balance a high-level strategic growth mindset with the technical discipline required for rigorous financial control.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Professional Background: 7 years of experience ideally within a fast-paced Fintech or regulated financial services environment.
- Technical Credentials: CA/CPA qualified (or international equivalent) with a Bachelors degree in Finance Commerce or Business.
- Regulatory Savvy: Proven track record in finance management with experience in advisory and the practical application of control frameworks.
- Analytical Rigour: Advanced Excel skills and a sharp eye for detail paired with the ability to challenge the status quo.
Skills & Attributes:
- Adaptability: Comfortable with uncertainty and able to manage changing priorities with minimal guidance.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
