The Department of Resident Services Partnerships and Initiatives (RSPI) engages NYCHA residents in critical programs services and initiatives in the areas of economic opportunity youth senior and social services; supports NYCHAs extensive network of Resident Associations; and connects residents to opportunities such as financial empowerment business development career advancement and educational programs.
RSPI has set forth a model of engagement that effectively serves residents as well as internal and external stakeholders to create a comprehensive engagement model that supports residents and NYCHAS strategic plan for preservation and advances the work of the agency.
Family Partnerships Department (FPD) one of RSPIs six units connects residents to critical services and implements programs and policies that support household stability tenancy individual advancement aging-in-place and the successful reunification of individuals with justice system involvement with their families who reside in NYCHA. FPD also manages partnerships and referrals with external providers and City agencies offering social service interventions to ensure connections to high-quality services that help NYCHA families meet their goals and maintain housing stability.
RSPI seeks an experienced individual to support its Family Partnerships team. Reporting to the Units Supervisor the Community Associates responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
1. Under the guidance of a supervisor you will develop plans to provide residents with appropriate social services; employ an early intervention preventive focused case management approach.
2. Under the guidance of a supervisor employ a home visit model to conduct assessments and determine service needs.
3. When needed conduct in-person and over the phone pre-screening of NYCHA residents to make appropriate referrals to formal and informal partners.
4. Prepare and maintain case records and written reports in the Family Partnerships Case Management Services (FPCMS) database.
5. Coordinate services connecting residents to support systems through direct referral and outreach.
6. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with NYCHA staff and community-based organizations to have a thorough understanding of citywide borough-wide and development-specific programs and thus ensure the best possible referrals and outcomes.
7. Identify establish maintain and share new resources with Supervisory guidance.
8. Assist with completing key documentation performing data entry and following up on referrals as appropriate. Utilize the FSCMS and database systems to document track and make referrals for services relevant to residents needs.
9. Perform other related administrative duties as needed.
