The opportunity
A leading referral hospital close to Dublin is recruiting a Board-Certified Small Animal Surgery Specialist to join its expanding surgical service. This position offers exposure to a broad and advanced caseload including complex soft tissue and orthopaedic referrals within a progressive and well-resourced environment.
The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative specialist team committed to delivering exceptional referral-level care and continuous clinical excellence.
The ideal candidate
The hospital is seeking a candidate who:
- Is Board-Certified in Small Animal Surgery (ECVS / ACVS or equivalent)
- Has strong experience in advanced soft tissue and/or orthopaedic surgery
- Enjoys working within a multidisciplinary referral team
- Is committed to evidence-based medicine and clinical excellence
- Has an interest in mentoring and professional development
The role
Responsibilities include:
- Managing complex surgical referral cases from diagnosis to postoperative care
- Working closely with ECC imaging medicine and anaesthesia services
- Supporting residents interns and surgical nursing teams
- Contributing to clinical governance protocol development and service growth
- Participation in an on-call rota aligned with senior specialist responsibilities
