DESCRIPTION
Organize supervise and direct the work of material handling personnel engaged in shipping and receiving. Ensure shipping receiving storage and distribution functions are performed in an efficient manner.
Monitor and evaluate racking forklifts shock switch software and reporting radio usage and all other warehouse equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
Maintain accurate product inventory control; perform monthly cycle counts and submit inventory reconciliation reports to management.
Coordinate warehouse personnel scheduling to include hours and responsibilities and master sanitation functions.
Monitor forklift activities and maintenance hold and return procedures inventory control storage maintenance and warehouse sanitation and appearance.
Develop and maintain standard operational and working practices and monitor workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Resolve employee concerns and issues - involve appropriate resources when needed (i.e. Supply Chain Manager and/or Human Resources.
Confer with management to establish warehouse and quality control standards develop budget and cost controls and obtain data regarding storage and freight costs.
Recommend develop and implement measures to optimize productivity increase the employee efficiency equipment performance and product quality.
Promote and support the plants safety programs and policies to ensure a safe hazard-free working environment for all employees through floor leadership conducting safety training and taking an active role in plants safety teams.
Communicate company and department information to team through meetings and written communication.
Review and retain warehouse documentation and reports; resolve problems to ensure minimum cost and prevent shipping and receiving delays; perform quarterly audits on shipping and receiving documentation.
Optimize systems that monitor and maintain materials inventory control.
Perform various duties for the Supply Chain Manager in their absence to include staff meeting attendance.
Perform various shipping and receiving duties in the absence of clerks as needed.
Adhere to and administer company policies and procedures in the areas of Human Resources Food Safety and Quality Assurance.
Perform miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree or the equivalent experience.
Minimum of 2 years plant warehouse experience.
Strong food safety customer and quality focus.
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts draw conclusions and implement to completion corrective actions.
Ability to understand cost containment and budgetary principles.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with good analytical time management and organizational skills.
Ability to lead influence and motivate employees through interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Must be self-motivated results oriented possess high degree of initiative and work well under pressure.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint). SAP experience a plus.
