About the Role
This is a senior high-impact regional leadership role responsible for driving the growth profitability and market positioning of the firms reinsurance broking portfolio. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer the role leads complex proportional and non-proportional placements manages senior insurer and reinsurer relationships and secures optimal terms for clients across the region. The position also plays a key role in market expansion delivering strategic insight developing high-performing broking teams and ensuring consistent high-quality client outcomes.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Set and deliver the regional broking strategy aligned to growth targets
- Drive market expansion and new business development
Client & Reinsurer Relationships
- Build senior-level insurer and reinsurer partnerships
- Retain and grow key regional accounts
Risk Placement & Negotiation
- Lead complex treaty and facultative placements
- Secure optimal pricing terms and coverage
Business Development
- Identify new markets and product opportunities
- Lead major client acquisition initiatives
Team Leadership
- Build mentor and performance-manage broking teams
- Promote a high-performance collaborative culture
Market Intelligence & Analytics
- Provide strategic market insight and portfolio analysis
- Advise on alternative risk transfer solutions
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure placements meet regulatory and internal standards
- Oversee documentation wordings and approvals
Internal Collaboration
- Align with underwriting claims finance and compliance
- Ensure seamless client service delivery
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance Business Economics or a related discipline
- MBA or recognised professional insurance qualification (ACII FCII CPCU or equivalent) preferred
