Job Summary
Job Summary
We are looking for a Sierra Developer with strong experience in Innovative Interfaces Sierra Integrated Library System (ILS) to design customize and support library workflows. The role focuses on Sierra APIs backend integrations SQL reporting and system customization working closely with library staff vendors and enterprise IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
Sierra ILS Development & Customization
- Develop and customize solutions within Innovative Sierra ILS
- Customize circulation cataloging acquisitions and patron workflows
- Configure Sierra parameters and system settings
- Develop extensions using Sierra REST APIs
API & Systems Integration
- Design and maintain integrations between Sierra and:
- Discovery layers (Primo EDS WorldCat Discovery)
- Library systems (ILL selfcheck RFID)
- Campus systems (ERP SSO payment gateways)
- Build and maintain RESTful services for data exchange
- Support realtime and batch integrations
Database & Reporting
- Write and optimize SQL queries against Sierra PostgreSQL databases
- Build custom reports and dashboards
- Support data extraction for analytics reporting and audits
- Ensure database performance and data integrity
Backend Development
- Develop scripts and services using:
- Python / Java / JavaScript / Perl
- Automate jobs batch loads and data cleanup
- Support upgrades and testing of Sierra releases
