Job Summary

This is a remote position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review interpret and analyse project drawings technical specifications and scopes of work to develop comprehensive electrical cost estimates.
Prepare detailed material labour and equipment cost breakdowns for industrial automation electrical control systems and related installations.
Source evaluate and negotiate pricing with suppliers vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
Collaborate closely with project managers engineers and technical teams to define project requirements assumptions and risk factors.
Develop bid documents tender submissions and proposals for clients in industrial hazardous area and automation sectors.
Use estimating software and tools to prepare and maintain accurate estimate records.
Monitor and analyse estimate performance during project execution and adjust forecasts based on scope changes.
Ensure all estimates align with relevant safety electrical and industry standards including applicable Australian regulations.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of estimates historical data and cost models for future reference.
Document preparation of manuals and document packages additional document management responsibilities.

Requirements

Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering Construction Management Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in electrical contracting industrial automation or construction environments.
Strong understanding of electrical systems industrial control equipment and automation components.
Proficiency in estimation tools Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software (e.g. spreadsheets cost databases).
Excellent analytical numerical and organisational skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings specifications and bill of materials accurately.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.
