Your Opportunity
Capital Power Corporation (CPC) is currently seeking an innovative and results-driven individual to join our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team.
The Financial Planning and Analysis team oversees Capital Powers consolidated budget forecasts and longterm plan providing critical guidance for managing the Companys financial performance.
Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis the Specialist will be the financial and operational data backbone for Capital Powers FP&A team. The Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the financial planning systems to enhance efficiency and ensure reliable data accuracy. Key responsibilities include overseeing system operations integrating data across platforms and automating key reporting processes. This role ensures secure and consistent financial data flows maintains the integrity of the planning environment and delivers timely reliable reports and dashboards to support consolidated budgeting forecasting and long-term planning. Through strong system management and cross-functional collaboration the Specialist enables timely insightful analytics and drives continuous improvement in financial performance management.
You will contribute to our team by
Overseeing planning system administration including environment management metadata and CoA structures security and user provisioning and backup processes as well as coordinating patches upgrades and user acceptance testing.
Delivers budget and forecast reportsby coordinating consolidating and evaluating cost centers. Supports users by validating data input executing data transfers and reconciling results across systems and reports.
Work closely with Senior Specialists to improve forms rules and reports and turn successful pilots into enterprise standard solutions.
Overseeing data integrationsbetween systems schedule and monitordata loads in coordination with IS troubleshoot failures and maintainreconciliation & checks.
Building and maintainingSmartViewtemplates input forms calculation rules mappings andEPM Automatescripts to streamline budget/forecast/LTP cycles.
Providinguser supportand training resolving service requests maintaining documentation and track issues and resolutions.
Streamlining and/or developing standard reports and dashboardsto support monthly forecast/budget/LTP deliverables.
Collaborating with the Data Sciences team to bring dashboard and reporting enhancements to life ensuring they meet stakeholders needs.
Implementingdata quality controls sourcetoreport reconciliations for audit evidence and ensuring accuracy of data loads.
Managing the planning calendar including data workflows job schedule stakeholder communications and day1 readiness checks.
Assisting withscenario setup and streamlining data preparation for LTP and routine adhoc analysis to enable faster and more accurate insights.
What you will bring to the role
Education
Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Business Finance or equivalent is preferred.
Experience
1-4 yearsin FP&A systems EPM administration financial systems or BI/reporting.
Technical Skills
Advanced competencies with Microsoft Excel.
Working knowledge of either Power BI SQL or EPM Automate.
Experience with Hyperion Planning EPM or other comparable financial planning systems considered an asset.
Process mindset attention to detail and bias for automation/continuous improvement.
Working Conditions:
Hybrid Office/Work from home position with possible very minimal travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices.

Union: CSU52 (T2)
Wage: $47.22
Clearance of Credit check is required for this position.
