Job Summary

TheLearning & Development Manager will work in collaboration with theProfessional Development(PD)and Human Resources(HR)teams todevelopcurricula create programsand manage training to support the professional development and career success of Foley Hoag attorneysand business professionals.

This hybrid role requiresin-office presence in our Boston office at least three days per week to foster collaboration and connection. The onsiteexpectation isTuesdayWednesdayand Thursday of each week.

Responsibilities

  • CollaboratewiththeDirectorofProfessionalDevelopment and PD team to assessattorneyneeds;establishgoals;and create implement andoverseeaPD core skills trainingcurriculum.
  • Collaborate with Chief of HR and HR team to create and implement relevant training for Business Professionals adjacent to the PD curriculum.
  • Create metrics to evaluate training ROIcollectand analyze feedbackassess progress on goals andimplement change as needed.
  • Envision design and implement innovative approaches to training and curriculum design.
  • Support internal presenters to maximize training effectiveness and engagement.
  • Identify vet and manage external training vendors; review content and materials to ensuretraining iscustomized forfirmand culture.
  • Oversee and promote opportunities for online learning; collaborate with vendors and internal groups onuse of content and integration into curricula; promote external training opportunities.
  • Collaborate withPDTraining & CLE Specialist to provideCLE-accreditationforqualifyinginternal programs; address CLE inquiriesand provide updates on CLE changes as needed.
  • Support training initiativesin other PD-related areas includingmentoringand review processes; recommendand implementprogram enhancementsandbest practices.
  • Contribute to development of best practice PDmaterials;manage resources and training content on the firms Learning Center and PD intranet site.
  • Monitor external trends and best practices in attorney professionaltraining;shareinsights andofferrecommendations.
  • Contribute to other PDinitiatives and programs asrequested.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional development/training experience within the legal industry preferably at amanagerlevelwithexpertisein training and curriculum design development andimplementation.
  • High levelof initiative ownership flexibility creativity andstrategicvision.
  • Excellent interpersonal team and verbal and written communications skills with ability to work effectively and collaboratively at alllevels.
  • Strongorganizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects at once realign priorities as needed and drive projects to successfulcompletion.
  • BA/BSrequired;JD or MS in Education Organizational Development or related field preferred.

Compensation range is $151000 to $184000commensuratewith related experience andqualification. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity experience specialty and training. The above salary range (or hiring range)representsthe firms reasonable estimate of the range ofpossible compensationat the time of posting.
