Job Summary
Data Engineers at ARS design build and maintain the data assets and pipelines that enable high-quality actionable intelligence across business operations and client engagements. They ensure that information delivery is timely reliable and aligned with the needs of end users adhering to internal quality standards and supporting business-critical reporting and visualization.
Data Engineers are responsible for managing and prioritizing their workload across weekly deliverables and longer-term strategic objectives. They are expected to apply sound judgment and technical discretion in developing solutions resolving data issues and making trade-offs in a resource-constrained environment.
In addition to engineering robust data solutions the role requires active collaboration with partner teams to improve processes enhance automation and influence technology investments that strengthen ARSs data ecosystem. Data Engineers also provide analytical and data-mining expertise to support strategic initiatives and guide the organization in leveraging data as an enterprise asset.
Essential Duties
1.Develop New Data and Reporting Solutions
- Translate business and client requirements into effective data models pipelines and reporting solutions.
- Collaborate with end users business stakeholders and management to validate requirements and ensure solutions meet functional and strategic needs.
- Apply established solution design principles to ensure scalability sustainability and adherence to architectural standards.
2. Maintain and Enhance Existing Reporting Assets
- Update and optimize existing solutions to reflect evolving client requirements business processes and performance needs.
- Evaluate existing reports and pipelines to determine ongoing viability and lead their decommissioning when they no longer provide business value.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data or performance issues as they arise.
3. Drive Automation and Improve the Sustainability of the Reporting Suite
- Lead or support initiatives to migrate legacy solutions to automated maintainable and modernized architectures.
- Redesign and rebuild legacy assets to align with current engineering principles tooling and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process automation that streamline delivery and reduce manual intervention.
4. Support Data Gathering Mining and Analytical Efforts
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the data warehouse including data structures lineage availability and appropriate usage.
- Develop queries extracts and aggregated datasets to support business analysts operational reporting and strategic initiatives.
- Advise stakeholders on data interpretation constraints and best practices for analytical use.
5. Uphold Data Stewardship and Quality Standards
- Ensure all solutions meet ARSs standards for data accuracy completeness and consistency.
- Validate and monitor data pipelines and reports to ensure correct data population and correct application of business rules.
- Contribute to the documentation governance and continuous improvement of data quality processes.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works in a climate-controlled setting seated continuously and is sedentary the majority of the workday. This position is in a call center with moderate to high noise levels & frequent foot traffic. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer phones and photocopiers. Work area stations and cubicles are close in proximity to others.

- This position is estimated to be 80% in office Escondido CA and 20% remote.
- Must adopt and embrace a flexible schedule mindset.
- Must be available to meet and work during regular business hours of the clients and the company (across all time zones) which may be outside of standard business hours or work schedule in any given location.
- Must possess self-motivation and be self-disciplined to complete necessary job duties and pro-actively seek all necessary information.
- Must be able to effectively and efficiently use all forms of communication as appropriate (video calls telephone e-mail instant-messaging).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills must be utilized to resolve issues timely as well as an ability to implement recommended adjustments.
