Data Architecture Engineer (Contract)

Location: Remote (Preference for Portland OR or Atlanta GA)

Working Hours: West Coast
Pay Rate: $80 $90/hr (W2). Must be on W2.
Duration: 3 months with extensions
Start Date: April 2026

Project Overview

Seeking a Data Architecture Engineer to support a major initiative focused on modernizing the order management process.

Currently the sample ordering process is manual time-consuming and prone to errors. This project will evaluate the current workflow and implement automation and AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency speed and accuracy.

This role will support Phase 1 of the initiative (April May) with anticipated continued work through additional phases for the remainder of the year.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable data architecture to support order management automation.
Develop and maintain data pipelines to move and transform data across systems.
Integrate systems and applications using APIs and other integration methods.
Support migration and development work within Databricks environments from Snowflake.
Collaborate with engineering data and business teams to modernize sample ordering workflows.
Prepare data infrastructure that will support future AI-driven automation capabilities.

Required Qualifications

Strong experience with data architecture and data engineering frameworks
Proven experience developing and maintaining data pipelines
Experience with API development and system integrations
Hands-on experience with Databricks (or migration to Databricks from platforms such as Snowflake)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AI or AI architecture
Experience supporting process automation initiatives
Previous experience in retail supply chain or product operations environments
