As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Banks Risk Central Tech team you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives

Job responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Develop data quality rules and controls for data.
• Provide Level 3 (L3) support for production systems addressing complex issues and ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Support BAU (Business As Usual) operations for Markets businesses leveraging previous experience in similar environments.
• Execute software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications ensuring design constraints are met during software code development.
• Gather analyze synthesize and develop visualizations and reporting from large diverse data sets to drive continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
• Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data using these insights to drive improvements and optimizations in code and system architecture.

Required qualifications capabilities and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 years applied experience
• Strong coding skills in Java / Python SQL.
• Experience in ReactJS/JavaScript
• Solid understanding of data structures algorithms and object-oriented programming.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud data management including Redshift DynamoDB Aurora and Databricks.
• Proficiency in automation CI/CD and agile methodologies.
• Experience in system design application development and operational stability.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
• Provide Level 3 (L3) support for production systems and support BAU operations for Markets businesses.
• Understanding of data modeling challenges in big data environments.

• Knowledge of financial data and front office investment banking.
• Experience developing APIs and foundational components.
• Strong SDLC mindset and familiarity with agile paradigms.
• Experience within DevOps Infrastructure design and transformation roles.
