This is a truly exciting time to begin or continue your career with our first-class business as a Forensic Examiner you will be responsible for carrying out routine laboratory analyses undertaking general housekeeping duties and provide administrative support for the Toxicology team.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
You will be required to help maintain the laboratory by keeping the area clean and tidy following stringent anti-contamination procedures prepare and validate quality control material maintain laboratory records provide routine calibration and maintenance of equipment and maintain consumable stocks.
You will also assist with casework analysis by following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Health and Safety requirements and ensuring they are fit for purpose. You will be responsible for maintaining sample integrity and chain of custody the preparation of casework samples for analysis undertaking analyses using instrumentation such as HSGC-FID GC-MS GC-QQQ HPLC LC-MS/MS and HRAM ensuring analytical data conforms to quality standards and input data onto an internal case management system. Finally you must take an active role in the continuous improvement throughout the team.
Qualifications :
For this role you must have a Chemistry degree or equivalent have strong verbal and written communication skills and have good planning and organisational skill. You must also be adaptable have a strong sense of accountability and integrity as well as being able to work collaboratively with a team. Previous experience in Forensic Toxicology sample preparation techniques instrumentation and related software and Microsoft Office would be a benefit to the role.
You will demonstrate all aspects of the Eurofins core values including customer focus quality competence team spirit and integrity. To gain security clearance you must have five years continuous residency in the UK. Security clearance is undertaken by a third party to police personnel vetting standards (NPPV3 and SC) as such any criminal convictions (including criminal convictions held by: you your partner parents siblings children (over the age of 10) and anyone living with you (who doesnt fit these relationships) may prevent you from gaining security clearance.
