Position Summary
The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre (PMCC) program provides world-class cardiovascular care. One of the largest programs of its kind in North America we are a major referral centre. Our program offers resources and expertise prepared to deal with even the most complex patient cases.

The position presents an excellent opportunity to work in a fast paced environment using state of the art technology to perform echocardiograms on a uniquely complex patient population.

Duties

  • Perform ultrasound imaging procedures as outlined in the procedure manuals to aid in patient diagnosis and/or treatment
  • Operating troubleshooting and ensuring ultrasound echocardiology/ancillary equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner
  • Preparing written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results
  • Performing other related patient handling responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
  • Participating in teaching educational research safety and quality improvement programs/activities

Qualifications :

  • Completion of a recognized post diploma Cardiovascular Principles and Instrumentation (C.P.I.) program
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) Level II Basic Rescuer Certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years recent cardiac ultrasound experience
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organizational time management and communication skills
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to function effectively in stressful situations
  • Computer literacy required
  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) 
  • Registration with Sonography Canada or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
