AHRC New York City is seeking Full and Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) who have a valid Drivers License and are comfortable driving a small van for their Adult Day Programs in Brooklyn and the Bronx.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am -3:30pm (35 hours per week). Upon completion and passing of AHRC NYC Defensive Driving class if driving is needed hours may vary.
Pay rate: $18 per hour plus a very generous and comprehensive Benefit packet. See additional Benefit information below.
In addition the following Bonuses are available depending on Programs needs.
- $2000 annually upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive Driving class
- $2000 annually upon completion of AMAP training

Responsibilities:
- Support individuals with disabilities in leading self-directed lives and becoming active members of their communities.
- The oversight of all safety and health considerations
- Promoting skill development interests and hobbies
- Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
Qualifications :
- Valid NY or Tri-State Drivers license in good standing required
- Experience driving a small van a plus.
- Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
- Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual.
- Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants families staff and community agencies.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
