Psychoeducation Specialist Maryview Medical Center

Job Summary:

The Psychoeducation Specialist provides direct patient care under the supervision of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal state and local regulations and within policies procedures and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH).

Essential Functions:

• Facilitates individual and/or support groups (within Psychoeducation scope) and may participate in family meetings and treatment team meetings.

• Provides community resource knowledge and handles coordination of related activities.

• May provide 1:1 patient safety companion service as needed and patient checks as assigned.

• Care planning and discharge planning in collaboration with Social Worker team.

• Participates in continued education and in-service training.

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy Recreational Therapy or Expressive Therapy (Music Dance/Movement) Counseling or Human Services (required)

Licensing & Certifications:

• Must be licensed certified or registered as appropriate by state and national licensing boards in one of the following: (required)

• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)

• Registered Art Therapist (ATR)

• Provisional Registered Art Therapist (ATR-P)

• Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC)

• Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC)

• Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT)

• Occupational Therapist Licensed (OTR/L)

Experience:

• 1 year of experience in social services or human services setting (required)
