Job Title: General Assembly Technician
Location: Batavia IL (Onsite)
Job Description
Client is seeking a General Assembly Technician to support a new project. This onsite role involves hands-on assembly and testing of detector components used in underwater physics experiments.
Under the direction of PPD and ETD staff the technician will assist with detector production and testing ensuring quality and accuracy throughout the assembly process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in scintillator plane and detector component assembly
- Perform mechanical assembly gluing and assembly of large components
- Support detector testing measurements and quality control activities
- Work with carbon-fiber layup processes
- Use basic measuring and QC equipment
- Document and report activities test results and measurements to the Project Investigator (PI)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in system or component assembly
- Hands-on experience with:
- Mechanical assembly and large-component assembly
- Gluing and bonding processes
- Carbon-fiber layup
- Basic measuring and quality control equipment
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Batavia IL
- U.S. Citizenship required
Education
- High School Diploma Associates or Bachelors degree (preferred but not mandatory)
