Infrastructure Policy & Regulatory Affairs supports the companys deployment of aircraft charging infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for identifying and removing regulatory and procedural barriers to infrastructure deployment influence national standards and help shape federal and state policy related to airport electrification. This position bridges several domains combining both the technical and policy sides of aviation infrastructure.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
- Support outreach with State DOTs aviation authorities and airports to educate and advocate for the deployment of electric charging infrastructure and auxiliary equipment in collaboration with the State & Local Government Relations lead
- Maintain company engagements with the FAA Office of Airports to identify and remove regulatory and procedural barriers to ground support equipment installation at general aviation airports vertical infrastructure and private infrastructure
- Monitor interpret and analyze infrastructure regulations and policies from FAA EASA ICAO Transport Canada and other authorities relevant to the business
- Develop position papers regulatory comments and briefing materials for external stakeholders including trade associations regulators and state government agencies
- Prepare and deliver internal communications for executive leadership and other teams on regulatory changes policy developments risks or opportunities related to infrastructure
- Liaise with trade associations and standards organizations on electric aircraft charging protocols and auxiliary equipment specifications
- Provide support to State & Local and Federal Government Affairs leads to advance policies and funding programs that support electric aviation infrastructure at the federal state and local levels
- Analyze federal and state funding opportunities relevant to airport electrification such as AIP BIL/IRA and state grants
- Attend key industry conferences workshops and committee meetings to influence airport infrastructure deployment for AAM
- Liaise with other teams across BETA to identify opportunities for sales and partnerships navigate FAA and airport processes for infrastructure deployment and regulatory expectations or standards developments impacting product development strategy
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in aviation infrastructure airport development and/or aviation infrastructure policy
- Experience engaging with FAA Office of Airports state DOTs and aviation authorities and airports
- In-depth knowledge of FAA Office of Airports processes Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funding and general aviation airport authorities
- Excellent written and verbal written communications skills
- Strong analytical and policy research skills
- Ability to collaborate across technicallegal and government disciplines
- Ability to travel regularly for meetings conferences and site visits
$120000 - $150000 a year
