Job Summary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma/GED required Associates degree or higher preferred;
  2. Minimum of three years work experience in a licensed childcare facility early childhood program or school setting;
  3. Minimum of two years successful experience in a supervisory role responsible for multiple employees;
  4. Hold a valid Child Care Directors Certificate from the state of Texas or meet the qualifications to become a licensed child care director;
  5. Strong organization communication and interpersonal skills;
  6. Strong computer skills.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Annual Contract: 210 days

SALARY:

$60522 (IA 2)

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supervise the operation of the assigned Early Learning Center.
  2. Obtain a Texas Child Care Directors License after employment if not already licensed.
  3. Manage and evaluate staff members to ensure quality program implementation.
  4. Design direct and coordinate the centers daily schedule and special events.
  5. Direct and coordinate curriculum at the Early Learning Center with the Community Programs ELC Curriculum Coordinator.
  6. Observe and provide feedback to instructors and aides regarding instructional practices and strategies that improve each childs emotional social physical and academic development.
  7. Provide staff development opportunities for staff members.
  8. Maintain all staff and child records support child enrollment and classroom assignments.
  9. Ensure the operation of the center is in compliance with or exceeds the standards of Texas Child Care Licensing.
  10. Manage human resource-related tasks pertaining to policies and procedures.
  11. Manage and provide input on the ELC budget.
  12. Maintain the appearance cleanliness and safe environment of the classrooms buildings and playgrounds.
  13. Provide regular on-going communication to the director to the department.
  14. Provide input on department policies and procedures.
  15. Provide quality customer service to all stakeholders.
  16. Perform any and all other duties deemed necessary by the Assistant Director or Director of Community Programs.
  17. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Occasional district wide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours. Occasional exposure to the outdoors and noise. Frequent bending/stooping pushing/pulling and lifting.
