General Description
The Aviation Department which operates the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the North Perry Airport is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Airport Operations Supervisor. This is administrative and supervisory work in managing the overall operation of a functional area within the Aviation Operations Division. Work may involve responsibility for planning coordinating and managing the operation of the Airport Operations Control Center (AOCC) Terminal Landside and Airfield within Operations sections of a County airport. Employees in this class supervise and train subordinates engaged in airport operations and inspections and ensure compliance with Federal State and County rules regulations and procedures. Work is performed with considerable independent judgment in planning and implementing operational procedures related to the assigned section and is reviewed through conferences and written reports. Duties include working rotating shifts and assignments including holidays and weekends. Work requires communication with the public airport tenants foreign Federal State local government and other agencies.
All Aviation Department employees must possess the ability to interact courteously with the public Airport vendors contractors and fellow employees to maintain a professional work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes a positive work environment.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in airport management business administration or closely related field.
(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)
Requires four (4) years in airport operations work including one (1) year lead work/supervisory experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Drivers License for duration of appointment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge and a Customs and Border Protection seal and non-movement or movement area driving privileges.

Airports Council International (ACI) Diploma in Airport Operations
Airports Council International International Airport Professional (ACI-IAP)
Proficiency with emergency tabletop exercise and live drill planning.
Per the Code of Federal Regulations Title 49 Part 1542 all airport employees must undergo a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and a Security Threat Assessment (STA) to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)Competencies
