We are seeking applications for a Research Lead to join our new Occupational Trauma service on a permanent part-time basis.
The Research Lead will provide operational leadership for St John of God Health Care occupational trauma service research including inpatient day programs community services and outpatients. This role will also lead key projects oversight project management and facilitate increased engagement and participation in research activities and support research governance and through liaison with the Group Research Office.
The Position
Collaborate and build relationships with other universities and organisations to promote inter agency collaboration and enhance the impact of trauma research
Lead and complete a clinical audit of SJGHC Occupational Trauma treatment services against the National Clinical Guidelines for the Treatment of PTSD and Complex Trauma
Lead the evaluation of the PTSD Recovery Centres including report production
Lead the observational research of comparing and contrasting PTSD and complex trauma treatment pathways within SJGHC services
Engage lead and support complex research methodologies to explore key research questions related to occupational trauma recovery and return to work readiness
Publish research findings in scientific and peer reviewed journals and present at key conferences and symposiums
Assist SJGHC to translate research findings into improved trauma treatment and recovery models of care at SJGHC nationally and internationally
Contribute to the development of trauma treatment policies at a national and international levels
Actively participate in grant writing and proposals to secure funding for research activities
Ethical oversight to ensure that all SJGHC led trauma research adheres to ethical standards and regulatory requirements
Ensure that all research activities meet the standards of the National Clinical Trials Framework and that all participating SJGHC sites are accreditation ready
Assist in the design of learning and development for SJGHC clinicians related to best practice data collection and research
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional with a higher degree (PhD or Masters) in a Health/Allied Health discipline or a related field. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leading and managing research studies including project management and hands-on research involvement.
The successful candidate will also have a strong track record in developing and producing research reports and articles for peer-reviewed scientific addition experience in disseminating research findings through presentations at seminars workshops and conferences will be highly valued.

We can offer you
Salary: $154196 to $171339 (pro-rata for part-time) plus 12% superannuation and salary packaging
Permanent part-time 30.4 hours per week
Can be based from our locations in: Sydney Melbourne or Wagga Wagga (must be able to travel State-wide including ACT)
