Teaching Assistants are seen as essential members of the EYFS team and play a key role in daily routines learning activities and pastoral support.
Due to increased levels of SEN EAL and speech and language needs within Nursery and Reception the school is now seeking a skilled and compassionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team.
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant you will work with children aged 35 supporting their development across all areas of learning. You will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS Lead to deliver engaging learning activities and provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups.
A significant aspect of this role involves supporting children with SEN including autism speech and language delay developmental delay and social or emotional difficulties. You will help children regulate emotions build communication skills and access learning in a calm and inclusive environment.
Support EYFS learning through structured activities and play-based learning
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs
Support children with SEN including ASD ADHD and communication needs
Assist with phonics early reading mark-making and early maths activities
Promote positive behaviour emotional regulation and independence
Support classroom routines including transitions carpet time and snack time
Assist with outdoor learning and physical development sessions
Observe assess and record childrens progress and learning outcomes
Work collaboratively with teachers SENCO speech therapists and external agencies
Support children with personal care needs where required
Maintain high standards of safeguarding health and safety at all times

You should demonstrate:
Experience working in EYFS or early years settings
Strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework
Experience or strong interest in supporting SEN and high-needs pupils
A nurturing consistent and empathetic approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Confidence supporting children with challenging behaviour
