Role Purpose

The EYFS Teaching Assistant will support children aged 35 in Nursery and Reception. This involves assisting teachers with both adult-led and child-initiated activities and providing one-to-one or small group support for children with additional needs.

Supporting children with SEN and EAL is a key responsibility. You will help children engage with the curriculum develop social and emotional skills and build independence in a structured inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of EYFS curriculum through play-based and structured learning activities

• Assist with phonics early literacy numeracy and creative development

• Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN EAL or social-emotional challenges

• Encourage positive behaviour independence and self-regulation

• Support classroom routines transitions snack time and outdoor learning

• Observe assess and record childrens progress in line with EYFS objectives

• Collaborate effectively with teachers SENCO external specialists and parents

• Maintain safeguarding health and safety standards at all times

• Support the emotional wellbeing and social development of all children

The Ideal Candidate

The school seeks a patient nurturing and reliable EYFS Teaching Assistant with:

• Experience in EYFS or early years settings

• Knowledge of EYFS framework and child development principles

• Experience or interest in supporting SEN and inclusive education

• Calm empathetic and consistent approach

• Strong communication teamwork and organisational skills
