The EYFS Teaching Assistant will support children aged 35 in Nursery and Reception. This involves assisting teachers with both adult-led and child-initiated activities and providing one-to-one or small group support for children with additional needs.
Supporting children with SEN and EAL is a key responsibility. You will help children engage with the curriculum develop social and emotional skills and build independence in a structured inclusive environment.
Support the delivery of EYFS curriculum through play-based and structured learning activities
Assist with phonics early literacy numeracy and creative development
Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN EAL or social-emotional challenges
Encourage positive behaviour independence and self-regulation
Support classroom routines transitions snack time and outdoor learning
Observe assess and record childrens progress in line with EYFS objectives
Collaborate effectively with teachers SENCO external specialists and parents
Maintain safeguarding health and safety standards at all times
Support the emotional wellbeing and social development of all children
The school seeks a patient nurturing and reliable EYFS Teaching Assistant with:
Experience in EYFS or early years settings
Knowledge of EYFS framework and child development principles
Experience or interest in supporting SEN and inclusive education
