The school has a strong focus on SEN and EAL learners providing targeted support for children with autism ADHD speech and language delays and other additional needs. Teaching Assistants play an essential role in supporting children to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
The EYFS Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS lead to support children aged 35 across Nursery and Reception. This role involves supporting learning behaviour and development through play-based and structured activities.
Key objectives include:
Supporting children with SEN and EAL in accessing the EYFS curriculum
Encouraging confidence independence and social skills
Assisting with the planning and delivery of activities that foster early literacy numeracy and creative skills
Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum through both adult-led and child-initiated learning
Provide one-to-one or small group support for children with SEN EAL or additional learning needs
Assist with phonics reading early numeracy and creative development activities
Encourage positive behaviour independence and self-regulation
Support classroom routines transitions snack times and outdoor play
Observe assess and document childrens progress in line with EYFS standards
Collaborate with teachers SENCO external specialists and parents to ensure consistent support
Maintain safeguarding health and safety standards at all times
Support childrens emotional wellbeing and social development

Is confident supporting SEN EAL and diverse learners

Demonstrates excellent communication teamwork and organisational skills
