Role Purpose

The EYFS Teaching Assistant will support children aged 35 across Nursery and Reception working closely with class teachers and the EYFS lead. The role includes providing learning behavioural and social support to all children with a particular focus on SEN and EAL pupils.

Responsibilities include facilitating play-based learning assisting with structured activities and supporting individual and small-group interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support delivery of EYFS curriculum combining play-based and structured learning

• Provide targeted one-to-one or small group support for children with SEN or EAL needs

• Assist with phonics early literacy numeracy and creative learning activities

• Encourage positive behaviour self-regulation and social interaction

• Support classroom routines transitions snack times and outdoor play

• Observe assess and document pupils progress in line with EYFS standards

• Collaborate with teachers SENCO external specialists and parents

• Maintain safeguarding health and safety standards

• Support emotional wellbeing and social development for all pupils

The Ideal Candidate
