Job Summary
Youth Initiative Development Programme (YIDP) is a youth-led social impact organization based in Kenya working at the intersection of mental health digital literacy and wellness education and sports for development. We design innovative community-centered programs that empower young people to thrive academically emotionally and economically.
We believe in the power of visual storytelling to drive advocacy influence behavior change and mobilize communities. To strengthen our communications we are seeking a Video & Graphic Designer Volunteer to join our growing team.
Tasks
The Video & Graphic Designer Volunteer will play a key role in shaping YIDPs visual identity and storytelling. You will create engaging graphics and videos that communicate impact amplify youth voices and support campaigns events and donor engagement.
This role is ideal for a creative professional or experienced designer who wants to apply their skills for social good while expanding their portfolio and professional network.
Requirements
- Design high-quality graphics for social media posters flyers reports presentations and campaigns
- Edit short-form and long-form videos (reels documentaries interviews event highlights)
- Support branding and visual consistency across YIDP programs and platforms
- Collaborate with communications and program teams to translate ideas into compelling visuals
- Prepare visual content for events trainings and advocacy initiatives
- Organize and manage visual assets (photos videos templates
Benefits
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in graphic design and/or video editing (professional or advanced volunteer experience)
- Portfolio demonstrating strong visual storytelling skills
- Background in design communication media or related field is an added advantage
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Photoshop Illustrator Premiere Pro After Effects Canva CapCut or similar
- Strong understanding of branding layout typography and color
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Creative thinker with attention to detail
- Passion for youth development mental health or social impact work
