Responsibilities:

• Provides advice on the testing strategy test plans the selection of testing tools and the identification of resources required for testing.
  
• Plans and organizes testing efforts for large systems in Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (GUI) environments including the execution of systems integration tests specialized tests and user acceptance testing (e.g. stress tests).
  
• The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the development of test plans test scripts and test cases and executing these against the various components. The tester will work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis design development implementation and ongoing support of the required systems.
  
• The resource will also support CSC release and infrastructure solutions support sustainment activities urgent priorities changing needs or time-sensitive infrastructure upgrades or other sustainment activities supporting any CSC platforms overseen by the Cluster where annual work is required.

• Proven expertise in ETL processes particularly in migrating data into Power BI-compatible formats using tools such as SSIS and Informatica.
  
• Familiarity with source systems (e.g. Cognos SSRS Qlik) enabling efficient data mapping and validation.

When Knowledge Will Be Transferred:

• Knowledge transfer must be completed one week prior to the end of the project or one week prior to the consultant leaving the ministry.
  

What Knowledge Will Be Transferred:

• All deliverables including design/supporting/release/training documents must be checked into designated version control repositories (for example SharePoint). All final documents and working drafts related to project requirements or solution design must be stored on designated project repositories (for example SharePoint site HPQC TFS etc.)
  
• Project manager and designated ministry staff must be regularly informed in writing (by email) of where documentation has been stored and must be provided a minimum of one walk-through of all documentation as part of the final knowledge transfer activities.
  

How Knowledge Will Be Transferred:

• Knowledge will be transferred through 1 on 1 sessions emails document updates and document review with the team.
  

Requirements

Experience and Skill Set Requirements:

Must Haves:

• Azure DevOps for test planning execution and defect tracking
  
• ETL and data validation testing using Informatica and SSIS with a strong focus on data accuracy and reconciliation
  
• Business intelligence testing specifically Cognos and Power BI including report and dashboard validation
  
• Strong SQL skills (SQL Server required; Oracle SQL / PL-SQL preferred) used actively in testing
  
• Accessibility testing aligned with AODA / WCAG AA
  
• Experience supporting production issues hotfix testing and release cycles ideally within a public-sector or large enterprise environment
  

Skill Set Requirements:

Testing and Methodology Experience:

• Experience in manual and automated testing.
  
• Demonstrated experience with Test Automation tools such as QTP (Quick Test Pro) V10.0 and HPQC.
  
• Working knowledge and in-depth understanding of the entire Software Testing processes.
  
• Experience in creating test plans test scripts test cases and test scenarios and reporting defects.
  
• Experience with different types of software testing and testing methodologies.
  
• Experience in manual and automated testing.
  
• Demonstrated experience with Test Automation tools such as Quick Test pro v10.0 HP quality Center.
  
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
  
• Experience working with technical team business analyst and business teams to identify gaps in solutions due to missing requirements in current documentation/solution artifacts.
  
• Demonstrated experience testing ETL processes and applications including Informatica and SSIS ensuring data integrity accuracy and performance across different environments.
  

Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse Testing Experience:

• Experience in testing data warehouses data marts ETL processes web applications and business intelligence reports.
  
• Demonstrated experience testing BI solutions (e.g. Cognos Power BI).
  
• Demonstrated experience working with applications using ETL (e.g. Informatica and SSIS).
  

Technical Skills:

• Experience with technical skills in SQL Databases XML.
  
• Experience using SQL in the context of testing.
  
• Proficiency with desktop tools (MS Office MS Excel MS Outlook).
  
• Experience testing for AODA and/or WCAB AA compliance in web applications preferable experience using screen reader (JAWS) for testing and High Compliance Sherriff tool.
