Senior Data Modeler (Cloud & Analytics)

This engagement sits at the heart of a major digital transformation shaping enterprise data foundations that power analytics data science and modern digital platforms within the insurance industry. The focus is on building scalable cloud-ready data models and standards that enable high-impact data-driven initiatives across the organization.

What is in it for you:

Salaried: $95-105 per hour.

Incorporated Business Rate: $100-120 per hour.

8-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.

Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.

Mandatory in-office presence in Markham on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday.

Availability to work extended hours as required to support project milestones and delivery timelines.

Responsibilities:

Design and maintain enterprise-level conceptual logical and physical data models supporting analytics business intelligence and data science initiatives.

Apply dimensional relational and data vault modeling techniques to support large-scale enterprise data platforms.

Partner with data engineering teams to translate business and technical requirements into scalable data architectures.

Collaborate with machine learning and data science teams to design data models supporting feature engineering and advanced analytics use cases.

Extend and optimize existing data architectures to improve performance scalability and data accessibility.

Support data migration initiatives by defining and implementing data migration rules and mappings.

Document source-to-target mappings data models and design standards to ensure consistency and data quality.

Contribute to the definition and adoption of data modeling standards governance practices and metadata frameworks.

Identify data security requirements and collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliant data designs.

Act as a trusted liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment and clarity across initiatives.

What you will need to succeed:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Management Information Systems Computer Information Systems or a related Information Technology field.

8 years of experience in enterprise data modeling and data design roles.

Proven expertise in dimensional data modeling within large-scale enterprise environments.

Strong cloud data engineering background supporting modern data platforms.

Advanced SQL proficiency with experience optimizing complex queries.

Hands-on experience with data technologies and tools such as Snowflake Hadoop PostgreSQL Informatica DBT Cloud Airflow and AWS Glue.

Strong knowledge of industry-standard data modeling methodologies and frameworks.

Demonstrated experience designing data models for business intelligence analytics and data science solutions.

Experience with ETL processes and data integration tools.

Familiarity with data modeling tools such as SAP PowerDesigner Microsoft Visio or ERWIN Data Modeler.

Ability to translate complex business processes into scalable technical data solutions.

Strong analytical problem-solving and data profiling skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Insurance industry experience is considered an asset.
