The Role:
Reporting to the Technology director for your tribe you will form part of the technology leadership team.
Youll deliver and communicate an architectural vision and roadmapfor the tribe the that is understood and supported by the wholebusiness and that provides clear achievable principles and directionfor the technology teams to follow.
Youll bring pragmatism to discussions and help the Tribe strike theright balance between near term business value and setting it up forsuccess for the long haul.
Youll enjoy relationships with technologists and commercial and operational stakeholders alike and they will have have confidencein your ability to facilitate us building the right solution well.
Youll partner with product and commercial colleagues in solvingbusiness and customer problems.
You will form part the divisional architecture chapter. Helping toshape the strategic direction of common platforms for all our
products.
What you will be doing:
Responsible for providing strong leadership to a team of Lead Architects Senior Architects and Solutions Architects beingobsessed about guiding them to deliver the right solution whilstcreating a culture that is collaborative delivery and change focused.
Help create a strategic architecture vision direction and principles which align with the wider business.
Drive continuous improvement in architectural processes and ways of working.
Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and architecturalapproaches and promote alignment between technology andbusiness strategy.
Promote continuous improvement and progression within thearchitecture team.
Form effective business relationships foster an open culture ofcollaboration and innovation within the architecture team and withother functions.
Foster a good balance of autonomy and cross-tribe coordination todeliver flexibility and/or greater efficiency and integration asappropriate.
Promote a team culture of an inclusive diverse. and respectfulworking environment.
Demonstrate the ability to make firm decisions in challengingscenarios for the overall benefit of the Tribe.
Represent the Tribe and its Leadership team at meetings and forums outside of the tribe.
Be a strong team player. able to work effectively across boundariesand within the Tribe Leadership Team.
Help shape the Tribes risk management process taking ownershipand tracking actions to deliver mitigation.
Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained and governance isapplied in line with legislative regulatory and business-widerequirements.
Working with colleagues across the UKI division to help shape and
drive forward platforms strategies and architectures.
What youll Bring:
You will be experienced in leading teams of architects and have adeep understanding of architectural principles and engineering goodpractice.
You have practical experience of designing systems that operate atscale.
Able to influence decisions communities and strategy across thebusiness.
Strong stakeholder management skills able to understand and relaystrategic objectives and plans and drive alignmentStructured thinking and a clear ability to plan and deliver businessoutcomes. Ability to set priorities and focus teams on what is mostimportant.
Excellent communication and influencing skills including the abilityto explain complex technical challenges a simple and effective manner
