EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Knowledge of state and local laws rules and regulations pertaining to traffic safety and to common carrier operations
Knowledge of mechanical functioning of motor vehicle safety devices and equipment
Knowledge of motor vehicle safety test equipment
Knowledge of inspectional and investigative methods and techniques
Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision
Ability to interpret and explain laws rules and regulations
Ability to assign supervise and coordinate the work of others
Ability to review reports and make recommendations
Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with the public
Ability to prepare clear and concise reports
