Job Summary

Domestic Considerations: This is a busy post requiring shift work over nights and weekends FTRS(HC) post.
Position Role: Provide effective armed security guarding in order to prevent infiltration attack or damage against property or personnel. Be prepared to react to any incidents as required.
Responsibilities:

1. Responsible to the Guard Comd for the physical armed security of the military establishment.
2. Deputise and act as the Gd Comd.
3. Conduct guard duties in line with the guard rota.
4. Control access/egress to the military establishment checking identities and conducting vehicle and person searches as required.
5. Conduct patrols and monitor the CCTV system reporting (and reacting to) any suspicious activity.
6. Respond to any incidents in accordance with the Barrack Incident Plan under the direction of the Guard Comd.
7. Maintain and account for all equipment in location in accordance with the NIGSU EC Directive.
8. Secure Personal Protection Weapons as directed by the Unit Security Officer.
9. Staff the telephone mobile telephone and WAXWING radios.
10. Record and transmit-onwards all relevant incoming messages and maintain the Daily Occurrence Book.
11. Be prepared to cover gaps in guarding posts at other throughout Northern Ireland. .
