As a member of our award-winning Safety & Rescue Department youll have the chance to go beyond the pool and take on advanced lifeguarding roles including triathlon support EMT assistance and standby assignments pushing your skills to the next level. Responsibilities
- Interact as a member of a high-performing rescue department
- Exercise tact fitness and good judgement in daily responsibilities
- Uphold core values of rescue readiness ownership and integrity
- Conduct patron education and community safety presentations
- Provides surveillance of water based sports and entertainment activities
- Provides basic emergency medical care to stabilize condition of ill or injured prior to EMS arrival
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated altruism and empathy
- Skilled in swimming and water confidence
- Demonstrated experience as role model and/or team leader
- Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies
- Willingness to learn and develop
Physical requirements:
- Physical activities may include climbing stooping kneeling crouching reaching walking standing pushing pulling lifting grasping feeling talking hearing and performing repetitive motions.
- Employee must have the physical strength endurance and ability to swim in deep water sit for extended periods of time and ability to drag one-hundred and fifty (150) pounds through open water environments
- Employee must have the visual acuity to distinguish people and objects at emergency scenes both in and out of the water with eyesight correctable to 20/40.
- Employee must have the stamina to work for extended periods of time in emergency situations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of sixteen (16) years at time of hire
- Completion of pre-hire fitness assessment and paid lifeguard academy
- Three (3) months customer service experience preferred
- Three (3) months of organized team sports preferred
- Knowledge of safety training procedures and best practices used throughout sports and entertainment industry
