As a Treasury Risk and Control Manager you will be responsible for operating and continuously enhancing the risk management framework within Group Treasury. You will work collaboratively across the wider Treasury function supporting both the Capital Markets and Operations teams.
This is a key role in identifying assessing and managing operational risk within Group Treasury ensuring robust governance and compliance with the Groups Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
As a Treasury Risk and Control Manager we are looking for someone to:
- Implement and enhance the 1B Line Risk Framework to support the growing complexity of the business.
- Ensure adherence to the Groups Enterprise Risk Management Framework including managing Treasury risk and control self-assessments.
- Support the team with document processes and controls including mapping and maintaining procedure documentation.
- Perform control testing identify operational control gaps and propose enhancements to key stakeholders.
- Coordinate risk awareness programmes within Group Treasury to strengthen understanding of conduct excellence and risk management.
- Conduct and coordinate deep-dive risk reviews control/compliance assessments and design action plans to mitigate residual risks.
- Prepare monthly risk reports and dashboards for accurate and consistent risk reporting across the function.
- Manage incident escalation to Group Risk and Group Internal Audit and maintain regular liaison with these functions.
- Support Treasury teams during second-line assurance activities internal audits and external audits.
- Collaborate with central 1B and wider business teams on operational risk incident analysis and enhancement of operational risk controls.
Qualifications :
Essential:
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and operational risk principles.
- Experience in controls testing risk assessments and process documentation.
- Understanding of mortgage lending and asset-backed securitisation.
- Ability to proactively assess risks and evaluate their impact on the Treasury function.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and influence stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to constructively challenge at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving analytical and influencing skills.
Desirable:
- Proven experience within financial services ideally in a Treasury or Capital Markets function (this is not a must).
- A relevant professional qualification in finance or risk management.
- Working knowledge of securitisation and debt capital markets.
- Experience in delivering or supporting large-scale transformation programmes.
