DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: Position is seasonal starting in May and running through August. Start and end dates are flexible dependent on show requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In collaboration with the Costume Shop Manager and Costume Designer organize multiple production elements including racks purchasing and pulling of garments fitting preparation notetaking in fittings supervision of rental and purchases piece lists dressing room lists and measurements.
- In collaboration with Stage Management provide rehearsal costumes an answer any concerns that arise with performers during the rehearsal process.
- Attendance is required at Production Meetings Final Room Run and all Technical Rehearsals.
QualificationsREQUIREMENTS:
- Strong knowledge of the design process.
- Professional comportment and appearance.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- A minimum of two years working in a professional or educational environment.
- Opera and/or Theatre Design experience.
- Access to a vehicle and drivers license are necessary. Mileage compensation is provided.
- Work hours may exceed 40 hours per week especially during tech weeks.
- Sensitivity and commitment to the mission of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts.
