The Opportunity
The Faculty of Engineering is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to cover parental leave. This role works closely with the Health & Safety Partner Engineering and other Faculty H&S Advisors to support people across Schools within the Faculty work safely by delivering expert technical advice and promoting a positive health and safety culture within the School. This includes working with Schools on hazard & incident response risk assessments and assurance activities to achieve practical solutions that ensure health and safety risks are being managed well and we are complying with relevant health and safety legislation. This particular role requires a person with strong experience as a H&S Advisor in high-risk environments and who is comfortable managing critical risks such as hazardous materials (chemicals) working with electricity and risks related to engineering laboratory equipment.
The role of Health and Safety Advisor reports to the Faculty Health and Safety Business Partner with a dotted reporting line to School Managers and has no direct reports. This position will work collaboratively with Laboratory Managers and Technical Officers to ensure a safe workplace.
