Job Summary


At Miller Electric the Service Electrician is responsible for servicing and installing electrical systems and equipment. Individuals in this position will service repair and maintain systems of all types in a clients facility during normal working hours and are available to be listed as on-call 24x7 on a rotating basis. They will also perform small project electrical installations. Service Electricians will report to a Service Manager or Project Manage. #miller

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate corporate Vision Mission and Core Values in daily activities
  • Properly communicate with the customer and Miller Electric management. Must be an effective and professional communicator both written and verballyfilling out daily work reports correctly
  • Responsive to company phone calls emails and text messages including after normal working hours
  • Safely operate and maintain an electrical service vehicle in accordance with Miller Electric policies (Driver license required)
  • Manage and care for a service vehicle tools material inventory cell phone computer Chromebook and any other equipment items that are issued to you
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning systems and determine the best course of action for repairs to include Controls Critical power such as generators and UPS systems Structured cabling and Data communications and Integrated Systems such as Security Surveillance and Access Controls.
  • Install all systems in accordance with the NEC and any applicable standards and specifications
  • Demonstrate initiative and ingenuity to analyze a situation and to make frequent technical decisions based on specifications and electrical codes
  • Accurately enter all necessary data into service management software via mobile tablet to update work orders for tracking documentation and invoicing
  • Provide any other required reports to management in a clearlegible and professional manner(Time Sheets Employee Evaluations Vehicle Inspections Etc.)
  • Requisition the necessary materials tools equipment and personnel necessary to complete the work order
  • Effectively manage resources to best control budgets
  • Manage train and develop any personnel assigned to you

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electricians License
  • Thorough knowledge of the electrical trade and the NEC
  • Understands and implements OSHA requirements and the companys electric safety policies
  • Strong commercial and industrial electrical background
  • Strong troubleshooting skills utilizing sophisticated test equipment as applicable (DMM Megger IR Camera Etc.)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers supervisors and clients
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times
  • Maintain high levels of productivity meeting deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Able to be on twenty-four hours call on a rotating basis as needed
  • Physically able to perform the duties of the position
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Strong personal interaction and communication skills
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position.
