Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced veterinarian with robust skills in general practice medicine and surgery to assume the role of Medical Director.

In this position you will lead a committed team of veterinary professionals while ensuring high-quality patient care and steering clinical decision-making and team development.

Your pivotal responsibilities will include:

- Setting the standard for medical and surgical excellence through exemplary practice.

- Mentoring both veterinarians and support staff to enhance their skills and confidence.

- Supporting the operational functions of the hospital and fostering a positive team culture.

- Collaborating closely with hospital leadership to establish clinical protocols and streamline workflows.

As a Veterinarian in this role you will:

- Oversee and administer preventive care diagnostics and management of chronic diseases.

- Perform a range of soft tissue surgeries including but not limited to spays neuters mass removals and foreign body surgeries.

- Provide comprehensive dental care including extractions supported by radiographic evaluations.

- Foster a Fear Free practice environment that prioritizes compassionate client-centered care.

Qualifications for the role include:

- A DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.

- Current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) to practice veterinary medicine in Maryland.

- A minimum of three years of experience in small animal practice.

- Demonstrated clinical proficiency in general soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures.

- Previous leadership or mentoring experience is highly desirable.

- A strong passion for coaching collaboration and delivering gold-standard veterinary medicine.
