As the Mechatronics Development Manager on the Construction team you will direct the work of embedded software mechanical and harness electronics and system engineers within construction applications to ensure the best practices around mechatronics system design and development. You will oversee your teams day-to-day responsibilities in designing building testing deploying maintaining and supporting mechatronic systems and components that integrate mechanical electrical and software engineering principles. You will ensure that project and department milestones and goals are met while staying within approved budgets. Additionally you will work to establish functional requirements design specifications and review solutions to ensure that organizational needs are met.
Responsibilities:
Act as a manager and mentor for engineers on policies procedures and technical issues related to mechanical electrical and software integration.
Plan direct and coordinate the daily activities of the mechatronics development department/group/team.
Ensure the team adheres to industry best practices and company standards for mechatronics development.
Oversee integration of various subsystems (mechanical electrical and software) to ensure seamless operation.
Evaluate and optimize designs for manufacturability performance cost and reliability.
Provide leadership and mentorship to team members ensuring their continuous development and alignment with organizational goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechatronics Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
5 years of individual contributor experience as a Mechatronics Engineer Mechanical Engineer Electrical Engineer Robotics Engineer or other related engineering fields.
- 3 years of experience managing teams of engineers in mechatronics development.
Comprehensive knowledge of mechatronics principles including mechanical design electrical systems control systems and embedded software.
Proficiency in CAD tools for mechanical design (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD) and simulation software.
Experience with embedded systems programming and software development including proficiency in C C or similar languages. 5 years of experience preferred.
Experience with Agile or other project management methodologies.
Strong project management skills particularly with complex cross-disciplinary projects.
- Preferred experience working in Robotics Automation or a similar field with regards to the construction industry.
