Your opportunity
Dillons Transportation Infrastructure Discipline is looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while gaining valuable exposure and experience in the consulting engineering industry.
At Dillon we operate as one team. This position is available at our Kingston or London office.
Responsibilities
Design and Project Coordination
- Assist project managers with coordination of transportation projects
- Assist in the design of transportation projects including:
- Preliminary and Detailed design
- Engineering studies
- Technical report writing
- Technical specifications
- Design calculations
- Transportation drafting using CADD software
- Assist with site investigations and condition assessments
- Complete review of safe work practices and perform risk assessments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including engineers planners environmental scientists engineering technologists and administrative support staff
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program from Queens University
Experience
- Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of industry standards specifications and good engineering practices
- Understand project design and implementation activities including: development of design drawings and reports contract document preparation tendering and contract administration
- Proficient in the use of current AutoCAD software; working knowledge of Civil 3D Microstation OpenRoads Designer or InRoads software will be considered an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication organization and interpersonal skills
