TheEngineering System Specialist- OTAworks within the Quality Engineering department at the Honda Canada National Office (HCI). The responsibilities of this positionincludethe planning validation deployment and post-launch monitoring ofOver-The-Air (OTA) software updatesfor Honda and Acura vehicles in the Canadian market.This role supportsOTA-related quality investigationsandidentifiesmarketissuesthroughdata analysiswarrantyreviewandfield investigationactivities.The purpose of these activitiesisto ensurecontinuous quality improvement for HondaproductsintheCanadian automotive market.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Deploy Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates for various vehicle platforms. This includes pre-launchpreparation software validationlaunch executionandpost deploymentanalysis.
Manage OTA campaign schedules and coordinate closely withHonda stakeholders to ensure successful andtimelylaunches.
MonitorOTA campaign performanceidentifyOTA-related qualityissuesand drive resolution through software countermeasures.
Conduct data analysis of warranty claims and field reports to define and prioritize commonly occurringOTA-relatedissues.
Issue reports for investigation activity technical investigation to understand failure.This involves collecting and testing failed warranty parts problem reproductionanddealer visits.
Provide technical support to various groups within Honda Canada including Tech Line Field Engineering Specialists Customer Relations Product Planning Publications Sales Advertising IT Training and Legal.
Generate service publications for dealers other departments and zones outliningupdate release notesandrepairmethodsto address issuesidentifiedrecently in the market.
RepresentingHonda Canada in regional (North American)and globalmeetings by assembling and presenting Canadian marketOTA performance quality issues and investigation findings.
Coordinate directly withelectricaland softwaresuppliersto develop countermeasures.
QUALIFICATIONS
University Degree-Engineering preferablyinAutomotiveElectrical MechanicalorSystem Design.
3 yearsminimum of automotiveor relatedexperiencecombined with strong project management capability.
Professional Engineering designation.
Strong understanding ofOTA systemupdates telematicssmartphonesand infotainment systems.
Knowledgeof automotive electrical systems CAN communication wiring diagrams and diagnostics.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with vehicle repair/problem diagnosis from prior work experienceor willingness to learn.
Networking / communication skillstointeract with design and development teams and outside suppliers to report and resolve any defects identified.
Strong writtenandverbal communication skillsincluding experience in preparing technical documents.
Experience in MS Office including Excel WordPowerPointand Access.
Must have strong analytical planning organization and strategic skills.
Must be a self-starter withabilityto build collaborative relationships with internal and external affiliates.
Proven interest and ability to learn new vehicle technologies.
Valid G drivers license.
Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.
Willing and able to work overtime on short notice.
Develops andmaintainsgood working relationshipswithall members of the team.
Develops andmaintainsgood working relationships within Honda North America as well as all other internal and external stakeholders.

HIRING PRACTICES
The salary range for this position is $86900- $108600 CAD annually. Individual salaries within this range aredeterminedby a variety of job-related factors including education experience knowledge and skill set.
This is an on-site with occasional work-from-home position that requires employees to work on-site four days per week with the opportunity towork-from-home one day per week(with a dedicated workspace at the assigned company office).
