The Northside School of Echocardiography is an accredited one-year full-time highly specialized certificate program that trains students to become knowledgeable healthcare professionals who perform diagnostic procedures performed in an adult Cardiac echo lab setting.
- The program combines dedicated classroom education and hands-on clinical instruction with a concentration in adult cardiac care
- Clinical training is conducted at Northside Hospital Forsyth Northside Hospital Gwinnett Northside Hospital Atlanta and at our Cardiology Practices
- Multiple rotations provide students with a broad range of inpatient and outpatient clinical experiences
- The program is designed for applicants without ultrasound experience or credentials
- Class size is limited to ten students annually
- $21000 program tuition includes clinical rotations national registry fees and a 1 year membership to the American Society of Echocardiography
- $50 application fee will be collected within a week of applying for the program.

Within one week after you submit your application you will receive an emailed Task List where youll be able to submit submit your $50 application fee and attach your required two letters of recommendation and a copy of your educational/college transcripts. Letters of Recommendation can either be a combination of 1 professional (does not need to be from a medical professional) and 1 personal OR 2 professional. Responsibilities
An Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer performs 2-D M-mode color flow mapping and cardiac Doppler echocardiography tests on the adult and geriatric patient population. Responsible for maintaining performance improvement documentation in cardiac and ultrasound in accordance with IAC.
Qualifications
Program participants should have one of the following:
- Two year American Medical Academy (AMA) Allied Health Degree
- Bachelors degree in health science
- Bachelors degree in non-health science field with the following pre-requisites:
- Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II (8 College Credits)
- Medical Terminology
- Graduate of a degree-granting accredited Paramedic program
- Other domestic or foreign clinical or medical degree programs will be considered.
