An opportunity has become available for a team member to put their hand up to train as a Production Planner to cover an employee away on long term leave. For the successful candidate they will continue to be trained as a permanent back up for this position.
Key Responsibilities include:
Collect the order information (Wood One Domestic) using JDE and JK systems
Check inventory (WIP and Finish Goods) using JDE and JK systems
Monitor and report actual raw materials usage against plan
Establish production plans for Sander and Cutlines
Administration of inventory
Physical WiP month end stock take and to reporting to Head Office
Finished Goods stocktakes and J-SOX audits
Maintain appropriate stock levels (including stock reduction initiatives) and rotation
Organise road and shipping logistics
Administration of the product specification database including product costings using JDE
Special improvement projects/trials as necessary
Produce production plans/schedules
Reporting of manufacturing efficiencies and yield
Supervise oversee and plan activity that relates to inventory control for JNL
Ensure all items in the warehouse are appropriately received and stored
See to proper inventory to ensure customers demands are met in the most efficient manner obtainable
Work directly with management to bring them up to date regarding stock inflow and outflow
Compile inventory information and present it to management for effective decision making which may include the need for restock and so on
Provide recommendations to management
Provide accurate information on inventory to JNL to guide them in their choice of items to order
Review balance of inventory and count the items in stock
Initiate policy changes regarding inventory in the company
Investigate hitches in the warehouse inventory system and execute necessary improvements towards better business performance which centres on customer satisfaction
The ideal candidate will have:

Ability to communicate information clearly
Strong Excel skills
