We are looking for an experienced Senior Registered Nurse interested in working full time (1.0FTE) on a 12-month fixed term basis at our Whitianga Whānau Health Centre. Although you will be based in Whitianga you will also be required to work in our Coromandel clinic as rostered. Our Whānau Health Centres provide primary health care services treatment and interventions across the lifespan (including mental health and Tamariki Ora) and across multiple clinic and community sites including in the client/whānau home. As a kaupapa Māori health service all Registered Nurses are responsible for providing culturally appropriate and whānau-centred care to our whānau.
Registered Nurses will work closely with clinic team members PHO/ Te Whatu Ora colleagues and other Te Korowai Hauora o Hauraki services to ensure whānau health needs are met. You must be passionate about improving health outcomes for Māori.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Practice Nursing experience
- A current APC and experience in primary health care/general practice or well child services
- Experience in using MedTech Evolution is desirable
- To be a cervical smear taker and an authorised vaccinator (or ready to undertake training)
- The ability to build relationships and communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) putting our patients and their whānau at ease
- To be highly organised and be able to manage your time and workload effectively - particularly when it gets busy
- To be flexible energetic pro-active with a positive can do attitude - ready to pitch in and help out when needed
- If youre interested in studying towards becoming a Nurse Prescriber - then youve come to the right place.
