Finance Account & Reporting Team Leader
About the Role
As Finance Account & Reporting Team Leader you will oversee the full financial function of our South African manufacturing plant. From input to interpretation reporting to compliance your leadership will ensure financial integrity and operational alignment across the business.
You will manage a finance team of approximately five staff including a payroll administrator and an IT resource responsible for the full site IT function ensuring seamless integration between finance systems and compliance.
What You Will Do
- Lead and support the finance team to deliver on operational requirements and service
- Foster a culture of accuracy accountability and continuous improvement
- Oversee standard costing variance analysis and profit plan vs actual performance
- Implement and maintain financial policies and controls
- Approve and verify all financial transactions
- Manage departmental and cross-unit budgets
- Drive month-end processes including reconciliations journals and trial balance preparation
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial stability
- Oversee debtors and creditors management ensuring timely collections and payments with accurate reporting
- Oversee weekly and monthly payroll processing via the payroll administrator
- Ensure accurate calculation and submission of all statutory returns (PAYE UIF SDL VAT)
- Liaise with SARS and other regulatory bodies as needed
- Provide full oversight of the sites IT function including infrastructure systems and support
- Ensure alignment between finance systems (e.g. SAP) and operational needs
- Ensure financial compliance with all relevant regulations
- Manage the annual audit process
- Fulfill all financial legal obligations as per employment and corporate regulations
Who You Are
- Must have Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Finance (BCom) with completed articles (SAICA or SAIPA)
- Minimum of 5 years post-article experience in manufacturing or FMCG with at least three years experience in managing a team and financial resources
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel
- Experience and good understanding in end-to-end functions including debtors and creditors; fixed assets and intercompany accounts cash flow and statutory submissions payroll oversight full IT function oversight
