Job Summary
Were looking for a Portable Service Yard & Shuttle Driver at our Edmonton hauling site!
Starting Wage: $32.95/hr. Overtime is paid after 45 hours weekly.
Start time: 5 8-hour days or 4 10-hour days Saturdays included with a 6 am start time.
Shift: It is unionized so schedules are bid for and then seniority applies
Some manual loading is required so experience with physical labour is an asset.
I. Job Summary
The delivery truck needs to be manually loaded even though we use a vac truck to suck out porta-potties. Works in the yard drives the shuttle and oversees the shuttle. Responsible for having the Portables units ready for delivery.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates vehicle in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local state and federal laws.
- Performs pre and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
- Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs briefings and meetings as required by WM or directed by the Route Manager.
- Works closely with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
- Notifies Operations Manager of any incidents accidents injuries or property damage.
- Notifies Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways receptacles too heavy to service or potential safety hazards.
- Communicates customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Completely dumps all receptacles and leaves the customers location clean and free of debris.
- Follows route assignments as directed and completes end-of-day documentation and check-out process.
- Performs all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch and assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

B. Certificates Licenses Registrations or Other Requirements
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid SIN (social insurance number).
- Hold a current DZ or Class 3 license or higher.
- The CDL is a requirement; therefore an applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
- Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen physical and background check which will include previous employment check and motor vehicle record review.

The expected base pay range for this position across Canada is $32.95hourly. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates relevant experience education training certifications qualifications and work location.This position is for an existing vacancy.
