This is a role for someone who can combine advanced clinical practice with cultural integrity strong relationships and a commitment to improving sexual health outcomes for mob across Metro South.
As a First Nations Clinical Nurse (CN) within Brisbane Metro South Sexual Health you will work autonomously as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver advanced sexual health care and coordination for people with complex needs.
You will contribute to a culturally safe person-centred model of care through clinical leadership youth outreach health promotion education quality improvement and research.
You will:
Provide clinical leadership in assessment care planning decision-making and complex case management
Lead and support youth outreach clinics and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health education initiatives
Contribute to service planning quality improvement audits and risk management activities
Support unit management activities portfolios and accreditation standards
Work in partnership with community and internal stakeholders to strengthen access trust and continuity of care
You are an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse who brings advanced clinical capability calm leadership and a deep commitment to improving sexual health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
You will bring:
A strong practice lens grounded in cultural safety confidentiality trauma-informed care and respect
Confidence working autonomously and navigating complex clinical environments
A relationship-first approach with the ability to engage respectfully with young people and community
A commitment to continuous learning collaboration and service improvement

You will also need:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA (NMBA)
Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in sexual health HIV and reproductive health nursing
Immunisation and cervical screening qualifications (highly regarded)

Metro South Sexual Health is part of Infection Management Services at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and provides specialist sexual health services across Metro South Health. Services include:
STI screening and treatment
HIV testing management and PrEP/PEP
Nurse-led clinics to improve access for high-risk populations
Youth outreach clinics delivered in community and youth venues
The team includes sexual health and infectious diseases physicians registrars nursing leadership and clinicians psychology and administration support.
