The Assistant Manager-Finance and Administration is responsible for assisting Manager on the day-to-day accounts management; fund management; budgeting and financial analysis for the University.

He/she is responsible to ensure that the reports are prepared accurately reported in a timely manner and in compliance with the Companys policies statutory requirements approved accounting standards.

The Assistant Manager-Finance and Administration reports to the Manager-Finance and Administration.

The role will be based at the Universitys campus in Putrajaya the administrative capital of Malaysia.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Management

  1. Assist Manager for the day-to-day operation of Finance and Administration activities especially on accounts payable treasury financial and management reporting and intercompany transactions.

  2. Perform invoice matching process and assist in processing payments.

  3. Responsible for auditing staff expenses claim to ensure compliance with companys policy.

  4. Assist in reviewing e-invoice self-billing report and Sales and Service Tax (SST) for Imported Service report for submission to regulatory bodies.

  5. Assist in fixed asset capitalization process and maintenance of fixed asset register.

  6. Responsible for general ledger management accounting activities planning journal entries and timely completion of month-end financial closing process.

  7. Ensure accurate and timely completion of Reconciliations; Management Accounts; and Statutory Accounts in accordance with statutory regulatory requirements and applicable Accounting Standards.

  8. Ensure accurate and timely completion of annual tax return assist in estimation of tax liabilities and application for tax refund.

  9. Liaise with internal and external auditors tax agent bankers company secretary and other professional and regulatory bodies.

  10. Responsible for processing intercompany transactions in compliance with Transfer Pricing policy.

  11. To carry out any other duties as requested by Finance Manager.

Funds Management

  1. Responsible for management of fixed deposit and repo placements to maximize investment returns.

Budgeting andFinancial Analysis

  1. Preparation of monthly management reports power BI reporting and other financial reports as required.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Degree or a professional certificate or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years of working experience as Senior Executive
  • and above or similar capacity.
  • Strong Accounting concept and reporting experience
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with high degree of commitment to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Well versed with Microsoft Office applications especially proficient in MS Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Desirable

  • Accounting/CPA/ACCA qualification
  • Minimum 1 year of working experience in related field as Assistant Manager;
  • Experience working in the education industry
  • Knowledge in Oracle Fusion
  • Able to communicate with all levels
  • Well versed with Power BI tools
